Samsung Galaxy S III Specs Revealed
With MWC 2012 going down in Barcelona, Spain as we speak, there's been many new smartphone and tablet announcements hitting the news. One we haven't heard about that many are looking forward to however is the next Galaxy device, the Samsung Galaxy S III. Despite a major launch with the Galaxy Nexus last year, and the highest selling smartphone for Samsung to date with the Galaxy S II earlier in 2011, Samsung feels this is the time for the next big thing.
The Samsung Galaxy S III has had a few specs trickle out of the woodwork lately, and it appears we now have the majority of the story after BGR broke some news Monday morning. The next-gen Galaxy S III will be sporting 4G LTE connectivity, an 8 megapixel rear camera, a 2 megapixel front facing camera and Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich running the show. The guts of this monster smartphone are powered by a 1.5GHz quad-core Exynos processor made by Samsung (as opposed to the NVIDIA tegra 3 choice of many other competitors).
Something else that has people questioning whether this is worth the size or not is that the Galaxy S III will have a 4.8inch 1080p display screen with 16:9 widescreen aspect ratio. The article on BGR makes mention of a "Blu-Ray display", which is NOT what the device will have built in. This is simply more of a bad phrase to get peoples attention on the specs, not an actual technology they can put on a touchscreen display of a smartphone.
All in all, it looks like a massive unified global launch will be the game plan for Samsung when they release this smartphone to the public. We just have to find out when.
