I've deleted all of my claims and have quit pinging technorati because I have discovered that they are ranking in google for my blog posts BEFORE me!
Maybe I'm overreacting, but I'm not too thrilled about this. I wonder how much google search traffic they are getting from our blog posts? I also wonder how much traffic is lost because of this.
Maybe there is another way to stop this... the only thing I can figure out is don't ping and don't use technorati.

This is happening to me. I used to get a ton of hits to my site through search engines and whenever I checked on google, the link to my site - http://theroadshowversion.wordpress.com - would be either first or second depending on how you phrased it.
Now whenever I check google search to only link to my site is via Technorati! This has only happened over the last few days and I've noticed that I'm barely getting any search inquiries to my site.
How do I stop pinging technorati? Help!

If you would like to have your blog delisted in Technorati, please submit a support request at http://support.technorati.com/support/troubleshooting and selecting "remove blog". However, please consider some of Technorati's services as they are good resources to increase the visibility of your blog.
Actually, I've checked into this and it's not really Technorati's fault. It's Google's! It's how they choose to rank your site and how they decide to list it. I was checking out some forums and this is happening to quite a few people. There's nothing you can really do. Apologies to Technorati.
TBH, Yahoo is a way better search engine to use.
